Don Warshaw, NY, Scenic Designer/Creative Director transforms a space into a vibrant and dynamic environment that enhances and supports the production, the brand, and the strategic marketing initiatives of his clients.
Don is a “hands-on designer” creating vivid, dramatic solutions for diverse projects and different production platforms with each having their own creative and technical needs. His long-range experience and development of his craft is an asset to the director and production.
He has been providing award-winning creative for the entertainment (Theatrical, opera, dance) TV/film and concert productions) and the corporate marketplace ( product launches, exhibitions, and media events) staged both in the United States and abroad for over twenty years.
Don was classically trained both in the United States (NYU TSOA, BFA, mentored by Oliver Smith, Carrie Robbins, Lloyd Burlingame), and University of London’s Slade School of Fine Art, University College London (only 5 artists were accepted worldwide). He studied Theatre Design under the tutelage of Peter Smith and Nicolas Georgiadis, Covent Garden, Royal Ballet and Sir William Coldstream (founder of the Euston Road School of Painting and Headmaster of the Slade School) receiving The Slade Higher Diploma of Fine Art.
Don is one of the original members of the Society of British Designers and was an active participant in the meetings that led to the formation of the Designer’s unit in Equity (UK) He was sponsored by Sir Richard Pilbrow and Sir John Bury at it’s founding.
