Production: A sales meeting at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, to show automotive gasoline distributors the new branded look of gas station architecture/shopping complex design for the coming decade across the country.
Designscape took attendees on a dawn-to-dusk, cross-country visual tour shot from the point of view of the audience driving the car itself.
Design Solution: We created a ‘57 Cadillac Eldorado complete with a working light-up dashboard, directional signals that blinked as the car turned corners, and dashboard radio that turned on and off. The steering wheel was 8 feet in diameter of cold rolled steel. Two actors, doing the chatter and patter sat at a Lucite desk, in one side view mirror; as the car went from city to city, their accents and dialects changed according to their location. The other side view mirror had an I-MAG . The set painted with automotive lacquer went tutti-frutti when it was lit .
